Refer to the documentation for your serial communication application and configure it using the following serial port settings:.Windows: HyperTerminal, PuTTY or SecureCRT.Connect the other end to a portable computer running a serial communication application, such as:.Connect the null modem cable to the node's management port on the rear of the node.Connect using a portable computer running Windows or UNIX For instructions to enable session logging, refer to the documentation for your serial communication application. If you are connecting to the management port of a node for diagnostic purposes, you should enable session logging to capture all session output to assist with the diagnosis.
Note: Refer to your node's Installation Guide or Isilon IQ Quick Start Guide to see diagrams of the management port location on the back panel of specific Isilon nodes.
